ZUMBA is a Latin-inspired, dance-fitness class that incorporates Latin and International music and dance movements, which create a dynamic, exciting, and effective fitness system! This class format combines fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body in an aerobic/fitness fashion to achieve a unique blended balance of cardio and muscle-toning benefits. Nina is a certified Zumba instructor and has been teaching Zumba since 2007. She has also trained under Alberto (Beto) Perez, the creator of Zumba from Colombia. She has recenty been selected to become a Zumba Jammer!!!
Zumba schedule:
- Tuesdays (Dance Street Studio) 6:00-7:00 pm
- Wednesdays 5:30-6:30 pm (NOTE this class is at a different Location-Fantastic Jubilation studio, 2800 Lafayette rd, Portsmouth)
- Thursdays (Dance Street Studio) 6:00-7:00 pm
- Saturdays (Dance Street Studio) 9:30-10:30 am
Zumba Gold
Zumba Gold was designed for the active older adult, the true beginner, and/or people who are not used to exercising, or people who may be limited physically. The main difference between Zumba Gold and Zumba (regular) is that Zumba Gold is done at a lower intensity, not as fast, but it certainly is as fun. The same great Latin styles of music and dance are used.
Zumba Gold schedule:
- A new session is being offered at Yoga on York on Tuesday nights, starting June 22, 7:30pm-8:15pm. These sessions are very popular and fill up fast! Follow the link below for more information:
- Sundays (starts July 11, 2010): 11-11:30 a.m. Zumba Gold chair-based class for seniors at Kittery Estates (207-438-9111) - COST: $3 to drop-in.
